Joshi Rest and Rejuvenation Retreat October 2009

November 11th, 2009

Having just returned from a very successful rest and rejuvenation retreat in October Joshi is again offering another retreat at the end on November.

The combination of beautiful weather, dedicated staff and amazing surroundings made the retreat an unforgettable experience. Guests enjoyed lounging by the pool whilst having manicures, pedicures and foot massages, treatments enjoyed whilst on the retreat included Haman scrubs in the exclusive Riad Spa, Thai and shiatsu massages in the lush gardens of the Riad, relaxing massages in the privacy of guests bedrooms, private consultations with Joshi on a daily basis, beauty treatments done by the on site beauty therapists that included, facials, hair dressing, scalp, neck and shoulder massages. Our female guests particularly enjoyed the Devi Ritual which consisted of a deep tissue massage whilst a bath of milk and infused oil is prepared for a deeply relaxing experience and finally followed by an assisted siesta ultra relaxation massage.

The retreat was also a great way to shed those extra unwanted pounds
All guests were on Joshi’s Holistic detox whilst on the retreat. The whole Joshi supplement range was available and all meals were wonderfully prepared by the Riad Chefs and featured meals from the Joshi Holist Detox Recipe Book.
Personal Training and Yoga was available on a daily basis and with a combination of good healthy food, wonderful treatments and effective training we had guests who lost up to 7 pounds at the retreat.

Not only were they looking great but feeling so much more energetic and positive making the retreat and ideal getaway to truly rest and rejuvenate your self.

Testimonials
My wife and I just wanted to express our thanks for a wonderful weekend that completely exceeded our already very high expectations (as you described it so well in advance). I am not going to launch into a list of superlatives but simply express our gratitude to the staff at the villa and your team all of who were excellent each in their own way (even my personal yoga teacher Francis). We met some wonderful people. Most of all however we wanted to thank you personally for your leadership and your personal care - from the idea, the execution down to the smallest detail were all a result of the competence and passion you demonstrated first hand throughout.. The personal touch made all the difference throughout the stay and you really were the Perfect Host.

When Dr Joshi mentioned the retreat it sounded wonderful and I so needed a break so I came. Wonderful didn’t do the retreat justice! Everything was exquisite - from the magnificent surroundings to the massages, yoga and beauty treatments. It lasted five days but was more restorative and beneficial than 2 weeks away. The retreat will stay with me long after I return home - not just the wonderful memories but more importantly the life changing habits and knowledge I’ve acquired.

Exceeded expectations - an oasis of calm and serenity which aided the detox process infinitely. The trainers and staff met every need and tailored everything specifically to your body and needs. A wonderful experience - beyond anything that the brochure of the Riad or the leaflet from the Joshi Clinic could explain. Feels like I have been away for weeks - not just 5 - 6 days. Don’t think about it just go! Thank you very much to everyone. There was not one thing that I disliked or would change. Will definitely be back for more. Thank you again.

Thank you so much  - I feel so relaxed and pampered. The Riad is exquisite and magical. I have seen a Red Crescent moon suspended in the sky and had rose petals in my milk bath. There has been a wonderful balance between beauty, rest, therapies, good company and education. The food was amazing and there was such a large variety of therapies. Thank you so much.

Dr Tatyana TelnikoffWhat Tatyana can do for you

Dr Tatyana Telnikoff offers a new rejuvenation treatment for skin and pain relief therapy.

Mesotherapy is a gentle therapeutic technique used in rejuvenation therapy and has an established track record in many European countries. It involves the injection of microscopic quantities of homeopathic medicine under the skin into specific points and areas. Components of these homeopathic preparations include antioxidants and vitamins, which are able to trigger the production of the body’s own collagen, which becomes depleted with age. After treatment, lines and wrinkles are diminished; the skin glows and becomes firmer and smoother. Mesotherapy is also used for redundant (sagging) skin, hand and neck rejuvenation, hair loss, and cellulite. Results can be seen on average after 5 - 10 sessions based on your body type and the severity of the condition.

Biopuncture conforms to the latest technical standards for the treatment of acute and chronic pain, such as that caused by sports injuries, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, joint instability, arthritis, migraine, cystitis, neuralgias and many others. It is also a combination of homeopathy and acupuncture. Tiny injections of homeopathic medicine are administrated to the area where the problem exists This method is very effective and serious side effects are excluded.

About Tatyana…
Dr. Tatyana Telnikoff was educated in traditional and alternative medicine, homeopathy, acupuncture and was subsequently awarded certificates for Mesotherapy and Biopuncture in Italy and Belgium. She has considerable experience of dealing with problems which have resisted treatment by traditional medicine. We can significantly improve our long- term health prospects by using holistic medicine, which stimulates natural self-healing and has no side effects.

Time to Detox - By Steph, D.C.

September 25th, 2009

A lot of people I work with are doing detoxes and its made me want to try one but I was skeptical about starting one mainly because I would not be able to workout due to lack of food and energy but alas I found one that I am excited about!!! Its more of a lifestyle and changing the way you eat instead of depriving yourself of food! How cool is that? A detox where you can still eat! I have been reading tons of good stuff on Dr. Joshis Holistic Detox. I just got the book which explains everything and why certain foods are not good for you. I have never been one to “diet” or do any of those fad things when it comes to food. My main goal is to gain more energy and feel good. I want to wake up in the morning and feel full of energy. So with that said…here is the low down on the detox:)

Dr. Joshi lays out an interesting approach to eating and to living that helps increase energy, lose weight and create a healthier lifestyle. The emphasis is on breaking bad habits and eliminating the chemicals and toxins that have crept into modern foods. The plan is to rebalance the body’s pH by eliminating acids.

The 21-Day Detox Program:

Throughout the Detox book, Joshi stresses the importance of listening to the body, understanding why it craves certain things and learning to differentiate between bad and good cravings. The initial 21-day plan works to change the palate so that cravings are reduced and the cycle of binging on junk food is stopped. By reducing the intake of acidic foods, the body is able to regain its more natural slightly alkali state. This enables it to eliminate toxins more readily and to break down fat more effectively.

The basics are:
· No wheat, gluten or yeast
· No sugar, chocolate or sweets
· No dairy (except plain yoghurt; goat’s milk and soy products are allowed)
· No fruits or fruit juices but bananas
· No artificially produced flavourings like ketchup, vinegar, mustard
· No red meat
· No nightshade vegetables (aubergines, courgettes, mushrooms etc)
· No toxins such as alcohol, caffeine, carbonated drinks, decaf coffee, cigarettes etc.
Although this begs the question what can I eat? there are a surprising amount of meals that can be made following the Detox and there is no severe limit as to portion size.

What is allowed:

· Fresh leafy green vegetables and salads
· Eggs (3-4 a week)
· Vegetable juices
· Brown rice, lentils and pulses
· Olive Oil
· Soy products and tofu
· White meats and fish
The book contains various charts and guides in order to monitor cravings, test the body’s current pH levels, evaluate the tongue, calculate the individual’s Ayurvedic Profile and BMI (body mass index) rating. There are also charts of what foods to avoid and what to increase, shopping guides, tasty recipes and a 3-week plan for the Detox. Joshi does stress that the first 48 hours can be the most difficult and this is when symptoms such as nausea, headaches and irritability can occur as the body begins to release toxins trapped in the blood stream.
With all that said…I am super excited to start my new journey and eat even cleaner! Plus I want my skin to look good too:) which is a bonus to all the clean eating!
Time to step it up in the kitchen and take it to a new level! Are you in????

Amalgam fillings in our teeth are toxic and harmful to our health

May 20th, 2008

Amalgam fillings in our teeth are toxic and harmful to our health, America’s health regulator, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), has finally admitted this week after claiming for years that they were safe.

This unprecedented about-turn marks the sudden end of a lawsuit that had been mounted by advocacy groups, such as Moms Against Mercury, who are seeking to ban the use of mercury in amalgam fillings and children’s vaccinations.

In an official statement, which has now been posted on the FDA website, the regulator admitted that mercury-containing dental fillings may have neuro-toxic effects on the nervous systems of developing children and fetuses.

The statement puts the US in line with a handful of other countries that already ban the use of mercury fillings in pregnant women. The FDA is calling for further research, and may announce a complete ban on amalgam fillings.

What Doctors Don’t Tell You has called for the ban of amalgam fillings since 1990 and its Dental Handbook provides a complete guide about their dangers, and when and how you should remove them. Dentists warn that an inexpert removal of amalgam fillings can cause serious chronic illness, and they’re right. The Dental Handbook explains how it should be done. Best of all, it’s available for download now, which makes it can be on your PC desktop in moments.
